Wisdom Circle is operated by Sage Collective.
These are Sage Collective's terms for Wisdom Circle: the app, the website at www.sagewisdomcircle.com, and the text messages members choose to receive.
Wisdom Circle Terms of Use
Effective date: November 1, 2026 Version: 1.3
1. Agreement to these terms
Welcome to Wisdom Circle. These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Sage Collective regarding your use of the Wisdom Circle web and mobile applications, the Sage Advice voice companion, and all related features and content, together called the Service.
By creating an account, accepting the consent screens, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If any part gives you pause, please speak with your facilitator or contact us using the details in Section 23 before continuing.
2. Who may use the Service
The Service is available to adults aged 18 and older who receive access through Sage Collective or a participating Circle. Members, their invited family members, and authorized facilitators and staff make up the community.
You agree to provide accurate information when you join and to keep your account details current.
3. Pilot status
Wisdom Circle is currently in a pilot phase. Features may change, pause, or expand as we learn from members. We work to preserve your stories and settings through every change, and we will inform you of significant updates in advance where possible.
4. Your account
Keep your login details private. You remain responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access, so that we can help you secure it.
Family members receive their own accounts with their own access. Sharing a single account between people makes it harder for us to keep your stories where you intend them to stay.
5. What the Service provides
Wisdom Circle offers:
- Sage Advice, an AI voice companion that listens to your stories, asks follow-up questions, and remembers what you share so each visit continues from the last.
- Story recording, which captures the stories you choose to record and keeps them in your personal archive.
- Wise Habits, guided practices covering movement, hand exercises, sleep, and mindfulness.
- Discussions, where members share conversation with one another.
- Vibrant Living, Sage Collective's framework for wellbeing.
- Resources, reference material about Sage Collective.
6. Your stories and other content
You own your stories. Recording a story through the Service leaves your ownership of it fully intact.
By recording a story, you grant Sage Collective a limited license to store it, transcribe it, and make it available to you and to anyone you specifically choose to share it with. Sage Collective also uses stories for the internal purposes described in Section 7.
Sage Collective seeks no broader license through these terms. If Sage Collective ever wishes to use a story for archival, publication, exhibition, or educational purposes, we will ask you separately and use the story only with your permission.
Withdrawing consent. You may stop recording at any time and may ask us to delete a story or your full archive. Contact your facilitator or use the contact details in Section 23. Deleting a story inside the app takes effect right away. We will honor other deletion requests within 30 days, subject to the retention obligations described in Section 8.
7. Voice recordings and artificial intelligence
The Sage Advice companion uses artificial intelligence to hold a conversation with you. Here is what happens when you speak with it:
- Your speech is processed by third party technology providers so that the companion can understand you and reply.
- Conversations are transcribed and stored so the companion can remember what matters to you across visits.
- Sage Collective staff may review conversations to check on your wellbeing and to improve the Service.
- Your family members and other members have access only to what you specifically choose to share with them.
Our technology providers are permitted to use your recordings and transcripts only to provide the Service to you. Sage Collective does not grant them permission to use your recordings or transcripts for any other purpose.
Artificial intelligence produces responses that occasionally contain errors. Please treat what the companion says as conversation rather than as professional guidance of any kind.
8. Privacy and data retention
Our collection and handling of your information is described in the Wisdom Circle Privacy Promise, which forms part of these terms.
We retain your stories and account information for as long as your account remains active, and afterward for the period described in the Privacy Promise. Some records are retained longer where law requires it.
9. Scope of information we provide
Sage Collective provides information about Sage Collective programs, Wisdom Circle features, and community life. Questions on other subjects, including financial, legal, medical, insurance, housing, and government benefits matters, fall outside what we are able to address. Please consult a qualified professional for those topics.
10. Health and wellness
The Wise Habits practices, the Vibrant Living content, and everything else in the Service are offered for general wellness purposes. The full health disclaimer forms part of these terms.
11. Emergencies
The Service operates on a delayed basis, and staff review conversations periodically rather than continuously. For any emergency, please call 911 or your local emergency number, or use your community's emergency call system.
If you feel unsafe or in crisis, please reach a person directly. In the United States, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available by calling or texting 988.
12. Acceptable use
Please use the Service in ways that keep it welcoming for everyone. When taking part, you agree to:
- Treat other members, family members, and staff with respect.
- Share only content you have the right to share.
- Keep other members' stories private unless they have given you permission to share them.
- Leave the security of the Service intact, including any access controls or usage limits.
- Use the Service for personal, noncommercial purposes.
- Refrain from impersonating another person or misrepresenting your relationship to a member.
- Refrain from uploading harmful code or attempting to gain access to accounts belonging to others.
We may suspend or end access where use conflicts with these expectations.
13. Content shared in Discussions
Content you post in Discussions becomes visible to other members of your Circle. Please share with that audience in mind. You retain ownership of what you post and grant Sage Collective a license to display it within the Service.
We may remove content that conflicts with Section 12, and we reserve the ability to moderate Discussions at our discretion.
14. Intellectual property
Sage Collective owns the Service, including its software, design, written content, practice materials, and marks. Sage Advice, Sage Collective, and the associated logos are trademarks used under Sage Collective's rights. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, nonexclusive license to use the Service, and all other rights remain with Sage Collective.
15. Third party services
The Service relies on third party providers for voice processing, hosting, and related functions. Their systems operate under their own terms, and Sage Collective's responsibility for their performance is limited to the extent described in Section 17.
15A. Text messages
Wisdom Circle can send you text messages when you turn on "Text messages from Wisdom Circle" in Preferences: an evening check-in reminder on days you have not checked in, the reminders you set on My Reminders, and notices about requests from your family or your circles. A member may also ask us to text an invitation link once to a family member they name. Message frequency varies with the reminders you set. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out; you can also turn the setting off in Preferences. For support, email info@sagecollective.org or call (312) 847-1886. Texts are never required to use the Service, and we send no marketing by text. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our Privacy Promise explains how we handle your number, and the program is described at https://www.sagewisdomcircle.com/legal/text-messages.
16. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service running smoothly and available. Maintenance, technical issues, and changes to third party services may interrupt access from time to time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature, and where a change affects your stories we will give you advance notice and a way to retrieve them.
17. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sage Collective disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and noninfringement.
Sage Collective makes no warranty that the Service will operate uninterrupted, that errors will be corrected, or that content generated by the voice companion will be accurate or complete.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sage Collective and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of stories, loss of profits, or personal injury arising from your use of the Service.
Total liability arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to access the Service during the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions limit the exclusions above, so portions may apply differently depending on where you live.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sage Collective from claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service in ways that conflict with these terms or with applicable law.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, excluding its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service grows. When we do, we will post the revised version with a new effective date and ask you to review and accept it inside the app. Continued use after acceptance means the updated terms apply.
22. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Promise and the consent screens you accept in the app, form the entire agreement between you and Sage Collective regarding the Service.
