Wisdom Circle Privacy Promise

What we collect

• Your stories. When you tell a story, we record your voice and write down the words. Keeping stories safe is a central part of what Wisdom Circle does.
• Your conversations with Sage Advice. What you say to the voice companion is written down so it can remember what matters to you from one visit to the next.
• Your check-ins. How you say you're feeling each day, and the short note you add if you choose, so your Circle and your facilitator can look out for you.
• Your basics. Your name, the email address you sign in with, your Circle, and a phone number if you share one.
• Text messages. If you turn on "Text messages from Wisdom Circle" in Preferences, we keep your mobile number, the fact that you said yes and when, and which texts we sent you, so we can honor your choice. The texts are account notifications you asked for: an evening check-in reminder on days you have not checked in, the reminders you set on My Reminders, and requests from your family and your circles. Message frequency varies with the reminders you set. Message and data rates may apply. We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or your text messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. • What you choose to tell us about yourself. Your heritage, if you share it, so the app can suggest voices, pictures, and story prompts that feel like home. The answers you give before a movement practice, so the app can keep practices gentle for you. All of this is optional, and "Prefer not to say" is always a choice.
• What you add and do in the app. Photos you add to a story, posts in Discussions and in your circles, questions from your family, the practices and lessons you finish, and which stories were played, so the app can show your progress and keep your place.
• Your phone's notification address and crash reports. If you turn on notifications, your phone gives us an address to send them to. If the app crashes, a report helps us fix it.

What we never do

• We never sell your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
• We never use your voice to identify you. Your voice is your story, not a password.
• We never copy or imitate your voice.
• We never share a story unless you chose to share it.

Who can hear your stories

• You. Every story is yours and starts private.
• Your family: only when you send them a link yourself.
• Other members: only when you turn on sharing for that one story.
• Sage Collective staff who help run the program can see that a story exists so they can help you, but sharing is always your choice.

The helpers we use

We use a few trusted companies to make the app work: they store data for us, turn speech into words, and help the voice companion talk. They are only allowed to use your information to run Wisdom Circle, nothing else. The current list is available from Sage Collective.

Your rights

• Hear everything we have. Ask, and we'll give you a copy of your stories and your information.
• Take back your permission. You can stop recording anytime on your Profile page.
• Delete your stories. One story or all of them; when you delete, the recording, the written words, and every copy in the app go too.
